All by my selfie
Today I'm having my first proper outing since I got COVID (4.5 months!) and my first crowd experience since anyone got COVID.
I decided I would sneak along to Les Misérables. I know it's tacky and I DON'T CARE. I've come by myself because leaving the house plus talking is still more cognitive effort than I'm willing to put in, and there's no one to see me get inappropriately emotional about showtunes.
It's intermission. People of all ages are here because tacky is timeless. Theatre people are nice to be around, because they love what they do so much. The audience is happy. There are nanas who've been on the vino in plastic cups since 2pm - they're definitely happy. I'm so happy I had a sniffle behind my mask. In fact everyone is happy, except the ones who died of grinding poverty or on the barricades.
Anyway: this is a review. If you can wangle a ticket to one of the remaining shows, get along, enjoy the talents of our clever local people, and just be happy.
